The Valery Gergiev Charitable Foundation was established on January 23, 2003, on the initiative of Maestro Gergiev for charitable projects in the arts, culture, and education.
On 5 and 6 October Valery Gergiev will conduct two concerts with the World Orchestra for Peace – in St Petersburg at the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre (5 October, 16:00) and in Moscow at the Zaryadye Concert Hall (6 October, 19:00). The programme includes Symphony No 6 (Pastoral) by Ludwig van Beethoven and Symphony No 9 by Franz Schubert.
On 7 and 8 September Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra will open the 2019-20 season at the Zaryadye Concert Hall in Moscow. The programme includes all of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's symphonies as well as appearances by prize-winners of the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition.
On 6 July Valery Gergiev, the Mariinsky Orchestra and Alexandre Kantorow (prize-winner at the International Tchaikovsky Competition, piano category will open the Summer Festival at the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden, which runs from 6 to 14 July
